Going to See Santa...Again

Great Grandparents

We took a trip out to Longview, TX to spend time with Sydney's Great grandparents (my grandparents).  We are so thankful that our extended family all live so close.

On a side note: My grandparents have been married almost 63 years! Amazing and what a good example of true love.

Fred has come back!

Our "Elf on the Shelf" is back for the holiday season. I love it when Fred returns because he guarantees that Sydney will be on her best behavior at least until after Christmas. Fred will be around the house watching and reporting to Santa each night. Thanks Fred!

I love hearing her scream with excitement each and every morning "Where is Fred?!" then she will run all over the house looking for him. It is a fun game and it is the first thing she does each morning that he is here.

Christmas Eve is bittersweet since she has to say goodbye to her little friend until next year...he has to return to the North Pole to help Santa.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for my wonderful family.  I am thankful that we all live close enough to spend time together routinely and especially on holidays.  I am thankful that we all have jobs, have more than enough food, our health, and our closeness. I will say a special prayer tonight for all that do not have such things. 

My heart goes out to my grandmother who has been battling breast cancer for several years and it has now traveled to her spine and recent reports are that it is extensive.
