Sydney had a wonderful time with all of her friends and was excited to participate in the Chinese traditions. Our house is decorated and we tried to follow some of the Chinese traditions for this time of year. Lot's of Fun!

1 Year Ago Today...

One year ago today,
I received the greatest gift of all
I finally received the phone call I longed for each and every day
I saw the face of the little girl who would change my life forever
I knew I would finally be a mom
My 3 year wait was finally coming to an end
I had a daughter and she was 100% meant for us in every way

I love you Sydney...and I will never forget the moment and how I felt when I saw your face for the first time. You took my breath away.

Sydney Dancing

I just had to upload this video of Sydney dancing. She dances all the time and she is very serious about it. She has no clue what she is doing but she sure is having a lot of fun!

I will try to blog more but....

I have been so busy trying to finish Sydney's life book, our trip to China book, and our China trip video. My goal is to have them all completed by the summer and hopefully I will be successful. I am trying to get a jump start on it right now since I am just starting.
I also elected to have a huge Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) Party at my house so i have to get everything ready for that too!
In the next 2 weeks, I will post pictures of anything significant but most likely I will post a lot at the end of January.

Sydney Sings "Ba Ba Black Sheep"

Sydney loves to sing this song, but no matter how many times we tell her she still says "wolf" instead of wool. It is so cute and I am glad that I finally got it on video!

Sydney is Officially a Texas Girl!

Today we went to court to re-adopt Sydney Fu in the State of Texas! This is only a formality, since Sydney was officially and legally our daughter on June 10, 2008 while we were still in China. Sydney will now receive a Texas birth certificate with Mark and I listed as her Mommy and Daddy which will make all of our lives much easier!
The bailiff was kind enough to take these photos for us during the ceremony.

Sydney's Daisy Troop Make Dirt

The Daisy troop is learning about composting and conservation. They are making dirt using damp newspaper shreds, a little water, and a lot of worms. They also learned what the worms like to eat such as apples, flower petals, lettuce, and coffee grounds. They had fun shredding all of the food to feed the worms. Each girl will have a chance to bring home the "worms and dirt". YAY!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We had a blast welcoming the year 2009 at the Great Wolf Lodge. We had a big room at the hotel and my sister, her husband and daughter stayed with us. The kids loved our room since there was a cabin within the room that had bunk beds and a flat screen TV just for them! My sister and I took the kids to the hotel early on New Year's Eve since the men had to work. We had the privilege of experiencing the indoor water park for a few hours with the girls.

The hotel had many activities and games for the kids to help celebrate the new year. They made 2009 glasses which were cute. We had a nice dinner and then put the kids in their "jammies". They were not going to sleep though...we went to a huge parents and kids DJ dance party at the hotel! It was so much fun! Sydney went crazy and did not stop dancing. She was so serious and we had to take turns taking her outside to cool her off. (yes, she was dancing that hard). She was cracking us up. I was mad because when we finally got the video camera...it was to crowded to get the full effect of her dancing moves and how large of an area she requires for them.

We all screamed the countdown and they had a balloon drop at midnight! Sydney and Rylee's new mission was to capture as many balloons as possible. We finally made it back to the room around 12:30 since the kids were getting tired. BUT once we got to the room they got their second wind! They were jumping around and were extremely excited...us not so much.

Finally lights were out around 1:15am so we could get some much needed sleep.

The next day it was the men's turn in the pool! My sister and I were the photographers for the day.

What a great 2 days!
