Chinese Dragonboat Races

The Chinese Dragon Boat Race tradition and holiday holds a special place in my heart since we met Sydney for the first time in China on the annual Dragonboat Race holiday last year. We had to pay the staff extra money for them to travel with Sydney 5 hours to Nanning on this holiday. We were so lucky that our meeting day was not delayed. I remember watching the races take place outside our hotel room window and hearing the beat of the drums. It was exciting to see but my mind was on meeting the little girl who would change my life forever.
Wow, has it been almost a year?
I will say that the dragonboats were MUCH longer in China and the actual race was much longer, but it was still fun to be a part of it all here in Texas with Sydney. Mark participated in the races and our team came in 2nd place in our division. YAY!!!! I am looking forward to joining him in the fun next year!
