The Bird's Nest
The Bird's Nest
Building shaped like an Olympic torch and will become Beijing's first 6 star hotel after Olympics.
The Cube (swimming venue)
The CubeWe went to the jade factory and bought a few little pieces and then headed off to a traditional Chinese lunch. After lunch, we went by the Olympics venues to take pictures. They are not open to the public at this time so outside pictures were ll we could get. We were fine with that.
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around our hotel which feels much like Time Square in New York City. We had dinner at... drumroll please...McDonalds! It was very nice and tasted great. Then we went to Haagen Daus for ice cream. It was sooo different there because they had a hostess and wait staff to serve you your ice cream. It was extremely nice and fancy with plush seating. They also had a traditional counter for ordering "take-out". We completely messed it up because we said we wanted to "dine-in" but then went to the counter to order! How were we supposed to know that they had menus to order at the table!! We felt like stupid Americans.
Now we are just relaxing and getting ready to fly out tomorrow to the capital of Sydney's province.
Less than 2 days until we meet our little girl!!!!!!
